Overview
Custom Dental Formulations (CDF) is a service-based company that provides formulation, research and development, and testing in the field of oral care products. CDF’s efforts are tailored to the client to meet the client’s specific needs with respect to formulation, ingredient evaluation, or performance testing.
Background
CDF was founded (as Indiana Nanotech, LLC) in 2006 to progress Dr. Robert L. Karlinsey’s patented calcium phosphate remineralization systems: in addition to multiple grant awards from the National Institute of Dental & Craniofacial Research and the State of Indiana, presently, the global sales from multiple oral care products containing these systems have surpassed $100MM. Dr. Karlinsey has also formulated dental products for a variety of small and large companies, including for the companion pet market.
Services & Offerings
Dr. Karlinsey leads CDF activities, including formulation, testing plans and protocols, data analysis, construction of reports, and interpretation of finds. Utilizing a trusted academic and commercial network of highly reputable and capable partners, CDF offers a full range of services starting from formula creation to performance testing (lab or clinic). Whether the client has specific questions about a study design best-positioned to support a formulation or claim, or would like assistance in developing a new formulation or key ingredient, CDF creates a customized plan to help meet the client’s needs. For maximum flexibility and transparency, the client can choose to work directly with CDF or the trusted partner.
